Feminist Perspective

In class, we had to split up into expert groups, I was number 3 and Georgina was number 4- the feminist perspective. I had to read the Male Gaze by Laura Mulvey and watch a clip - Dusk Till Dawn and annotate it. 

What is the gaze?
The concept of the gaze is how an audience views the people who are presented.
How men look at women 
How women look and see themselves and how women look at other women. 
Laura Mulvey began research in which women are represented in film.
The idea is that a womans body is displayed on screen and this makes her the object of the male gaze. 

It shows men dont have very high expectations of women and don't expect them to very powerful, however women can be just as powerful as men.
