In today's lesson we reviewed what we learnt from last week and talked about representing gender. We watched a clip from youtube, we learnt that the typical alpha male is powerful and dominant compared to the woman who is submissive. Women are supposed to look nice, act sweet and do what is expected of them.
I also learnt about genderising editing, when creating/watching a video clip you can genderise it, making it female or male. You can make editing look masculine or feminine. Merging scenes together with a slow rhythm and using a dissolve effect. The scenes would be more emotional where as in a male scenes, the cuts would be decisive.
