Representation & Textual Analysis

When watching a TV drama, there are certain aspects to look out for: considering both representation and textual analysis. 
When looking at representation, it is best to look out for:
-age
-gender
-ethinicity
-disability
-religion
-social class
-sexuality

When considering textual analysis, there are five main points,
- camera
-sound
-editing
-mise-en-scene

There are also negative and positive representations. A negative represenation could be a TV drama that involves negative behaviour from the characters or negatie stereotypes. A good example of one, would be Shameless:Typical negative characters,drinking taking drugs etc. 
Also when analysing a TV drama, you have to make sure you know who the characters are, their roles, the story/situation, the relationship of power and what kind of stereo-type they are.
